Old photograph of Minto Pit by Lochgelly, Fife, Scotland. William Galloway brusher, Francis Street, Lochgelly, was one of the victims of the explosion of fire damp which occurred at No. 2 Pit, Minto colliery, Lochgelly, on the Friday morning of 1 June 1920. He succumbed to his injuries in the Dunfermline and West Fife Hospital. The town of Lochgelly derives its name from the nearby body of water, Loch Gelly.
