Old photograph of the Temperance Hotel Taynuilt, Scotland. As it was a Temperance Hotel it was not permitted to sell alcohol. Taynuilt was the site of a regular ferry across Loch Etive to Bonawe on the north bank from about 1690, though it is likely there were earlier less formal arrangements. Taynuilt's name comes from the Gaelic for house by the stream.
