Old photograph of golfers on the golf course by Millport on the island of Cumbrae in the Firth of Clyde, in North Ayrshire, Scotland. The Millport Golf Club was formed as the Cumbrae Golf Club in 1888 by gentlemen members of the Glasgow Golf Club who wanted to play golf when on holiday in Millport and a few local worthies. The 9 hole course was opened on 2nd April on land rented from Mr Baillie of Damhead farm. Sir Matthew Arthur of West Kilbride presented the first trophy, The Arthur Cup, in September 1888.

Old Photographs Golf Course Moffat Scotland
Old photograph of golfers on the golf course in Moffat in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. Moffat Golf Club was founded in 1884. In 1904, Ben Sayers of North Berwick was invited to design the present 18 hole course.

Old photograph of golfers putting on the 18th green on the golf course at Machrihanish, Argyll, Scotland. In 1879 after the extending of the golf course in the natural links environment, Jim Morris, Tom Morris, Bob Martin all from St Andeews, Fife and Jack Morris of Hoylake all played a round for prizes with a prize of £10 up for grabs.
