The 51st Highland Division was an infantry division of the British Army that fought on the Western Front in France during the World War I from 1915 to 1918. The division was raised in 1908, upon the creation of the Territorial Force, as the Highland Division and later 51st Highland Division from 1915.

Tour Scotland Photograph War Memorial Cupar Fife


Tour Scotland photograph of the First World War Memorial in Cupar, Fife, Scotland. At the east end of St Catherine Street is Cupar War Memorial in a classical Greek style overlooking the Cart Haugh, one of several designed by John Kinross with assistance from leading contemporary sculptors. The memorial was first unveiled by Field Marshal Earl Haig in 1922 and then again for the addition of the World War II memorial in 1950 by the Earl of Elgin.
