Tour Scotland Spring afternoon travel video of a road trip drive in sunshine and snow, with Scottish music, from the village of Scone where I live, to visit the city centre of the Fair City of Perth, Perthshire. Weather warnings were issued for most of Scotland, along with all of Northern Ireland and parts of Wales today including cold temperatures a sprinkling of snow, with even hail and sleet predicted. The Weather forecast suggests more Artic cold weather in Edinburgh, Dundee, Fife, Perth, Stirling and surrounding areas of Scotland. During the coronavirus pandemic I have been a volunteer driver doing some shopping etc; for elderly Scots.
Perth has been known as The Fair City since the publication of the story Fair Maid of Perth by Scottish writer Sir Walter Scott in 1828. During the later medieval period the city was also called St John's Toun or Saint Johnstoun by its inhabitants in reference to the main church dedicated to St John the Baptist
