Old photograph of the James of the Glen Memorial in South Ballachulish, Lochaber, Scotland. Erected in 1911 to the memory of James Stewart of Acharn known as James of the Glens, executed on this spot on November 8th 1757 for a crime of which he was not guilty. In 1752 Colin Campbell was shot dead. It is now generally agreed that Stewart was not responsible, but the Campbells had him executed for it and this is where the execution occurred.
