Old Photograph Fenwick Scotland

Old photograph of Fenwick, Ayrshire, Scotland. During the 17th-century persecution of Covenanters, Fenwick was a center of resistance against the imposition of Episcopacy. Many parishioners suffered, with some executed or killed for their faith, and memorial stones for these martyrs are found in the churchyard. The Fenwick Weavers' Society was founded in Fenwick in 1761 and is considered one of the first co-operatives in the world.
