Tour Scotland very short 4K travel video clip of a Scotsman wearing a Kilt and Sporran and walking in Glenbatrick at sunset on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to a remote area of Island of Jura, Inner Hebrides, Britain, United Kingdom. The glen has been inhabited by people since prehistoric timea. The track leading to Glenbatrick was built by Henry Evans, a one legged Englishman who travelled on horseback. These days the route known as Evans's Walk is a six mile track popular with walker and hikers. The Astor family, a prominent British American socialite and political family, owns the remote Glenbatrick Lodge near here. The Clan MacLean once owned large tracts of land across the Hebrides, including on Jura, but fell into debt and declined in power. By the late 17th century, the rising power of the Clan Campbell led to them acquiring most of the MacLean estates, including some of their lands on Jura. Autumn leaf color or colour is a phenomenon that affects the normally green leaves of many deciduous trees and shrubs by which they take on, during a few weeks in the Autumn season, various shades of red, yellow, purple, black, orange, pink, magenta, blue and brown. The phenomenon is commonly called autumn colours or autumn foliage in British English and fall colors, fall foliage or simply foliage in American. Tour Scotland very short 4K travel video clip of a Scotsman wearing a Kilt and Sporran and walking in Lussa Glen on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to the remote Northern end of Island of Jura, Inner Hebrides, Britain, United Kingdom. The Lussa Glen and river and the surrounding areas have long been a site of archaeological interest with evidence uncovered of Mesolithic, middle stone age, hunter gatherer settlements, possibly from as early as 11,000 to 8,000 BC. This a remote and isolated area accessible by a 25 mile, single track road. The area also includes Barnhill, the remote farmhouse where author George Orwell lived from 1946 to 1949 and wrote much of his famous novel Nineteen Eighty Four. Scotsman Walking Wearing Kilt In Glen Bellart On History Visit To Island Of Mull Scotland
Tour Scotland short 4K travel video clip of a Scotsman wearing a Kilt and Sporran and walking in Glen Bellart on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to the Island of Mull, Britain, United Kingdom. The most profound recent historical event affecting Glen Bellart was the Highland Clearances, which caused mass emigration. The legacy of the Clearances is still visible in the landscape of Glen Bellart. You can find abandoned crofts, which are small farms and cottages, that speak to the depopulation of the area. As communities were displaced, the Gaelic language and traditions that were once dominant in the glen declined significantly. The emigrants from Glen Bellart and other parts of Mull settled all over the world, with communities forming in Nova Scotia, Australia, and New Zealand. This created a global network of descendants, many of whom now return to Mull to explore their ancestral roots. Autumn leaf color or colour is a phenomenon that affects the normally green leaves of many deciduous trees and shrubs by which they take on, during a few weeks in the Autumn season, various shades of red, yellow, purple, black, orange, pink, magenta, blue and brown.
