Old photograph of the Sanatorium by Banchory, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Completed in 1900 this was one of the first sanatoria or tuberculosis hospitals, in Britain. The Sanatorium closed in 1928, lying empty until becoming the Glen O’ Dee Hotel in 1934, after being used for the World War 2, it reverted to a hospital. Old Photograph Crown Street Aberdeen Scotland

Old photograph of a Bank, shops, cars, buildings and people on Crown Street in Aberdeen, Scotland. The Hammermen of the Incorporated Trades, representing the jewellery fraternity, laid out Crown Street, Diamond Street, Silver Street and Golden Square within the 1st stage of development West of the Denburn. The plan for Crown Street was to create an important street, which is now the main thoroughfare through the area, to connect with Union Street but without the huge expense of bridging Windmill Brae, the ancient route into Aberdeen prior to the construction of Union Street. George Frederick Ernest Albert, born 3 June 1865, died 20 January 1936, was King of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions, and Emperor of India, from 6 May 1910 until his death in 1936. Mary was the wife and Queen consort of King George V, she was born on May 26, 1867 at Kensington Palace, London, England. She married George V, on July 6, 1893.
