Tour Scotland photograph of a drystone wall from Schiehallion Road, Highland Perthshire, Scotland. Schiehallion road is a winding single track road that connects Aberfeldy to Kinloch Rannoch in Highland Perthshire. The name Schiehallion is an anglicised form of the Gaelic name Sìdh Chailleann, which translates as Fairy Hill of the Caledonians. It is also known to some as The Maiden's Pap, or Constant Storm. Schiehallion lies between Loch Tay and Loch Tummel, 10 miles north of Aberfeldy.

Schiehallion, whose name means either the Maiden's Pap or the Seat of the Caledonian Fairies or the Fairy Hill of the Caledonians, is one of the most romantic and interesting mountains in all of Scotland. Schiehallion has a rich botanical life, interesting archaeology, and a unique place in scientific history for an 18th-century experiment in " weighing the world ".
