Tour Scotland Video Annie McKelvie Song Perth Perthshire

Tour Scotland video of a Scotsman singing Annie McKelvie at an event for Senior Citizens in Perth, Perthshire, Scotland.

Dumbarton's the place I met Annie McKelvie
She was walking alone by the shore
And we talked for a while till as evening was falling
I walked her back home to her door

She said, Give me a while to think o'er your proposal
My mother would have to consent
So we parted that night with a kiss at her doorstep
Back home through Bowling I went

At last she agreed she would come to the dancing
And travel to Clydebank by train
On that cold station platform I waited for hours
I never saw Annie again

Oftimes I walk by the banks of the Leven
And follow its flow to the Clyde
And I think of that day spent wi' Annie McKelvie
The lassie that wounded my pride

Last chorus:
Do you fancy a night at the dancing wi' me
The band in the town hall's the finest you'll see
If there's no' another place you'd rather be
Then I'll wait at the dance for you, Annie

Will ye gang tae the Heilands, Leezie Lindsay ?
Will ye gang tae the Heilands wi' me ?
Will ye gang tae the Heilands, Leezie Lindsay,
My bride and my darling tae be ?

To gang to the Heilands wi' you, Sir,
I dinna ken how that may be,
For I ken nae the road I am gaeing,
Nor yet wha I'm gaun wi'

O, Leezie, lass, ye maun ken little,
Syne ye dinna ken me;
For I am Lord Ronald MacDonald,
A Chieftain o' high degree."

Oh, if ye're the Laird of MacDonald,
A great ane I ken ye maun be;
But how can a chieftain sae mighty
Think o' a puir lassie like me ?

She has gotten a gown o' green satin.
She has kilted them up tae her knee,
And she's aff wi' Lord Ronald MacDonald,
His bride and his darling tae be.

Tour Scotland Video Wild Mountain Thyme Perth Perthshire Scotland December 22nd

Tour Scotland video shot today of a Scotsman singing Wild Mountain Thyme at an event for Senior Citizens in Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. This song is most commonly known in Scotland as Will ye go lassie go.

Oh the Summer time is coming
And the trees are sweetly blooming
And the wild mountain thyme
All around the blooming heather

Will ye go lassie go
And we'll all go together
To pull wild mountain thyme
From around the blooming heather
Will ye go lassie go
.
I will build my love a bower
Near yon pure crystal fountain
And on it I will pile
All the flowers of the mountain

Will ye go lassie go
And we'll all go together
To pull wild mountain thyme
From around the blooming heather
Will ye go lassie go
.
If my true love she were gone
I will surely find no other
Where wild mountain thyme
All around the blooming heather

Will ye go lassie go
And we'll all go together
To pull wild mountain thyme
From around the blooming heather
Will ye go lassie go

Tae the lairds i' convention t'was Claverhouse spoke
E'er the Kings crown go down, there are crowns to be broke
Then each cavalier who loves honour and me
Let him follow the bonnet o' bonnie Dundee.
Chorus
Come fill up my cup, come fill up my can
Come saddle my horses and call out my men
Unhook the west port and let us gae free,
For it's up wi' the bonnets o' bonnie Dundee!

Dundee he is mounted, he rides doon the street,
The bells they ring backwards, the drums they are beat,
But the Provost, douce man, says "Just e'en let it be
For the toun is well rid of that de'il o' Dundee."

Chorus

There are hills beyond Pentland and lands beyond Forth,
Be there lords i' the south, there are chiefs i' the north!
There are brave Duinnewassels, three thousand times three
Will cry "Hey!" for the bonnets o' bonnie Dundee.

Chorus

Then awa' to the hills, to the lea, to the rocks
Ere I own a usurper, I'll crouch with the fox
And tremble, false whigs, in the midst of your glee
Ye hae no seen the last o' my bonnets and me!

Tour Scotland Video Lennox Family Portsoy Aberdeenshire

Tour Scotland video of the Lennox Family from Portsoy, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The wonderful Lennox family singing Bonnie Banks of Airdrie O, Unst Boat Song and Mouth Music.

The clan name comes from the title of Earl of Lennox which commanded the vale of Leven between the 12th and 15th centuries. In 1424 the Clan Lennox was decimated and Iain Colquhoun of Luss of Clan Colquhoun took advantage of this to win the King's favour by capturing Dumbarton Castle from Lennox. Sir John Stuart of Darnley was created 1st Earl of Lennox of the new line by King James III of Scotland in 1473. Malcolm the fifth Earl of Lennox led Clan Lennox into England and besieged Carlisle Castle. A clan battle took place between the Clan Kincaid and the Clan Lennox of Woodhead in 1570. Henry Stuart, born 1545, died 1567, Lord Darnley and the eldest son of the 4th Earl of Lennox was the second husband of Mary Queen of Scots. He was also the father of King James VI of Scotland. The King promoted the 8th Earl of Lennox to Duke of Lennox in 1581.

Tour Scotland My Funny Valentine Video

Tour Scotland My Funny Valentine Video. Sung by Scottish singer Rod Paterson

My funny Valentine
Sweet comic Valentine
You make me smile with my heart

Your looks are laughable
Unphotographable
Yet you're my favourite work of art

Is your figure less than Greek
Is your mouth a little weak
When you open it to speak
Are you smart?

Don't change a hair for me
Not if you care for me
Stay little Valentine
Stay!
Each day is valentine's day

Is your figure less than Greek
Is your mouth a little weak
When you open it to speak
Are you smart ?

Don't change a hair for me
Not if you care for me
Stay little Valentine
Stay, oh stay !
Each day is valentine's day.

Tour Scotland Video Silver Darlings

Tour Scotland Video Silver Darlings. Alastair McDonald singing Silver Darlings by Jim McLean, Andy Hulskramer and Bob Halfin from the album Scotland in Song.

O herrings are harvests that fishermen glean
Where flashes the silver through deep ocean green,
But when herring harvests reach old Aberdeen
They're known as the silver darlings

CHORUS: Silver darlings on Aberdeen quay,
Brought by the fisherman home from the sea
To the city that stands 'twixt the Don and the Dee,
The home of the silver darlings

The boats leave the harbour, their wake spreading wide
And empty they roll with the swell of the tide.
O soon may their hatches be thrown open wide
For a catch of the silver darlings

With ice in the rigging and death down below,
The gales screaming wild and the glass hanging low,
The wives and the sweethearts are women who know
The price of the silver darlings.

Tour Scotland Every River Video

Tour Scotland Every River video. Runrig performing Every River at Drumnadrochit, Loch Ness. This is an excerpt from their Year of the Flood DVD.

Every river I try to cross
Every hill I try to climb
Every ocean I try to swim
Every road I try to find

You ask me to believe in magic
Expect me to commit suicide of the heart
You ask me to play this game without question
Raising the stakes on this shotgun roulette

But every river I try to cross
Every hill I try to climb
Every ocean I try to swim
Every road I try to find
All the ways of my life
I'd rather be with you
There's no way
Without you

You came to me like the ways of children
Simple as breathing; easy as air
Now the years hold no fears; like the wind they pass over
Loved, forgiven, washed and saved

Every river I try to cross
Every hill I try to climb
Every ocean I try to swim
Every road I try to find
All the ways of my life
I'd rather be with you
There's no way
Without you

Every river I try to cross
Every hill I try to climb
Every ocean I try to swim
Every road I try to find
All the ways of my life
I'd rather be with you
There's no way
Without you

Every river I try to cross (Every river)
Every hill I try to climb (Every hill)
Every ocean I try to swim (Every ocean)
Every road I try to find (Every road)
All the ways of my life (Ways of my life)
I'd rather be with you (Rather be with you)
There's no way
Without you

All the ways of my life
I'd rather be with you
There's no way
Without you (Without you)
No way without you
There's no way without you

Tour Scotland Hame, Hame, Hame, Video

Tour Scotland Hame, Hame, Hame, video. A beautiful and sad song, sung by Andy M. Stewart of Silly Wizard.

Hame, Hame, Hame,
Hame wad I be.
Hame, Hame, Hame,
In my ain country

Where the bark and the pine
and the bonny rowan tree
They are all bloomin' fair,
In my ain country

Hame, hame, hame,
Hame wad I be,
Hame, hame, hame
In my ain country

Where the wild deer run
through the glen I'll never see
Where my heart will lie to mend
In my ain country

Hame, hame, hame,
Hame wad I be,
Hame, hame, hame
In my ain country

Where the glint thru the mark
aye tells tae me
it'll shine upon them yet
In my ain country

Hame, hame, hame,
Hame wad I be,
Hame, hame, hame
In my ain country

Where the bark and the pine
and the bonny rowan tree
They are all bloomin' fair,
In my ain country

The Art of Kenneth McKellar. There are fifty selections on the double cd and each and every one of them a gem. The material ranges from opera to ballads, folksongs, art songs, popular songs and sacred music. McKellar glides effortlessly from genre to genre and has you believing you are hearing these pieces for the first time. Some might turn up their noses at the old chestnuts I'll Walk Beside You and the Road to Mandalay, but after hearing McKellar's sincere and beautiful renditions, you will be begging for more. Then there is the simple hymn I To the Hills that will have the hair on the back of your neck standing at attention. The Art of Kenneth McKellar.
