October 17th photograph of the first St. Ayles Skiff built, known as the Chris O’Kanaird, on the outer harbour beach in Anstruther, East Neuk of Fife, Scotland. The St Ayles Skiff suitable for Scottish Coastal Rowing is approximately 22ft, with a beam of 5'8". Crewed by four oarsmen or women, with a coxswain.

Tour Scotland Videos Coastal Rowing Anstruther East Neuk of Fife

Tour Scotland video of coastal rowing in Anstruther, East Neuk of Fife, Scotland. Members of Anstruther Ladies Rowing Club and others in their St Ayles Skiff practicing their Scottish Coastal Rowing in the outer harbour. The Scottish Coastal Rowing Association was formed to encourage Coastal Rowing & Racing around the Scottish Coastline and Lochs. Communities are encouraged to become involved in the building of new boats to be rowed. Members of the community then also become involved, many for the first time, in using the sea for fitness, friendship, and competition.
