Scotsman Walking Wearing Kilt In Graveyard On Summer History Visit To Isle Of Eriskay Scotland

Tour Scotland short 4K Summer travel video clip of a Scotsman wearing a kilt and sporran and walking in a graveyard on coast of Isle of Eriskay on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to Outer Hebrides, Britain, United Kingdom. This graveyard contains the final resting place of Father Allan MacDonald, born1859, died 1905, a highly revered Roman Catholic priest, crofters' rights activist, and pivotal figure in Scottish Gaelic literature. The site contains many Celtic Crosses and the graves of three unidentified Merchant Navy seamen whose bodies washed ashore during WWII. The older, highly conspicuous burial ground sits right along the coast, enclosed by a stone perimeter wall heavily accented by white and stone Celtic crosses. Before burial grounds were established on the island, deceased Eriskay residents had to be transported across the water to be interred at Hallin Cemetery in South Uist. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome.
