Scotsman Walking Wearing Kilt In Garden On Spring History Visit To Brodie Castle Moray Scotland

Tour Scotland short 4K Spring travel video clip of a Scotsman wearing a Kilt and Sporran and walking by daffodils and flowers in a garden on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to Brodie Castle, Moray, Britain, United Kingdom. The castle was the ancestral seat of Clan Brodie for over 400 years. While the family has been associated with the land since the 12th century, allegedly gifted by King Malcolm IV in 1160, the current structure primarily dates from the 16th century. In 1645 the castle was partially destroyed by fire when it was attacked by Lewis Gordon, 3rd Marquess of Huntly, during the religious conflicts of the Covenanters. Between 1824 and 1845 massive architectural transformations occurred. William Burn began converting the castle into a Scots Baronial mansion, a project later completed and modified by James Wylson. Major Ian Brodie, the 24th Laird, bred over 400 varieties of daffodils on the estate; these still carpet the grounds every spring. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome.
