Tour Scotland short 4K Spring travel video clip of a Scotsman wearing a Kilt and Sporran and walking by 16th century Gylen Castle on the coast of Isle of Kerrera on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to Argyll and Bute, Britain, United Kingdom. Built in 1582 by Duncan MacDougall, 16th Chief of Clan MacDougall. It was designed as a coastal stronghold" and a high status residence, not just a simple defensive fort. Positioned on a rocky promontory at the south end of Kerrera to control maritime traffic and protect the nearby, main MacDougall stronghold of Dunollie Castle. During the Civil War of 1647, the Wars of the Three Kingdoms, Covenanter forces under General Leslie besieged the castle. After surrendering, the garrison was massacred, and the castle was burned. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome. The date for astronomical Spring is 20th March, ending on 21st June
