Scotsman Walking Wearing Kilt By Kirkhope Tower On Spring History Visit To Borders Scotland

Tour Scotland short 4K Spring travel video clip of a Scotsman with red hair wearing a Kilt and Sporran and walking by Kirkhope Tower on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to the Borders, Britain, United Kingdom. A historic 16th century Scottish Pele tower located in the remote Ettrick Valley. Built around 1540 to protect locals from violent cross border raids, this four-story stone fortress stands near the village of Ettrickbridge. After spending over a century as a roofless ruin, the tower was beautifully restored. The tower was home to Walter Scott, a famous raider known as Auld Wat of Harden". He lived there with his wife, Mary Scott, who was celebrated in old Scottish poems as the Flower of Yarrow. The historical motto of the tower is " There will be moonlight again. " While it sounds sweet, it was actually a code used by raiders meaning that the light of the moon would soon make it easy to go steal cattle again. Scotland has the highest concentration of redheads in the world, with about 6% to 13% of the population possessing natural red hair.
