Road Trip Drive With Bagpipes Music A855 On History Visit To Isle Of Skye Inner Hebrides Scotland

Tour Scotland 4K travel video of part of a road trip drive, with Scottish bagpipes music, North on the A855 route past Loch Fada and Loch Leathan on ancestry, genealogy, history visit to Isle Of Skye, Inner Hebrides, Britain, United Kingdom. Loch Fada is a freshwater loch on the Isle of Skye, which flows directly into Loch Leathan. Together, the two lochs are known as the Storr Lochs. Fada is Scottish Gaelic for " long". Its name refers to the loch's long and narrow shape, which sits in a bed of Jurassic era limestone and mudstone. The road along the loch is narrow, but there are frequent passing places for cars to cross paths, or to stop and admire the spectacular scenery. The views from the southern end of Loch Fada north to the Old Man of Storr are among the highlights of Skye. This area was historically home to the MacLeods and the MacDonalds, with the MacLeods originally based there and the MacDonalds later establishing a presence in the north of the peninsula. The MacNicol, also known as Nicolson, clan also had a long history in the area. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.
