The river flows through a succession of turbulent gorges at this location having started its journey on the moors and mountains to the south of Loch Tay. them flows eastwards through Glenalmond. It runs through the village of Almondbank, before joining the Tay immediately north of Perth. The river's course is around 30 miles long.
