Tour Scotland 4K travel video, with Scottish ,music, of a walk around St John's Episcopal Church on ancestry, genealogy, family history visit and trip to Forfar, Angus, Britain, United Kingdom. St John’s was opened for worship in 1881 and occupies a busy town centre location on the corner of East High Street and Green Street. An earlier place of worship existed on this site in the past - the original St John’s Episcopal Church, built in 1823 and almost immediately considered too small for the fast-growing congregation. The present church building is rectangular in plan, with a large nave, running north-south, truncated square tower at the south-west corner, west side aisle and chancel at the north end. The history of the Scottish Episcopal Church, Scottish Gaelic: Eaglais Easbaigeach na h-Alba, is traced by the church to ancient times. The Church today is a Christian denomination in Scotland and a member of the Anglican Communion. It has enjoyed a distinct identity and is neither Roman nor English. It is therefore not a Daughter Church in the Anglican communion. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome.
