Summer Road Trip With Music To Holy Name Parish Church On History Visit To Oakley Fife Scotland

Tour Scotland 4K Summer travel video, with Scottish music, of a road trip drive to The Holy Name Parish Church on ancestry, genealogy, family history visit to Oakley in Fife, Britain, United Kingdom. This church was constructed for Roman Catholic miners who had moved from Lanarkshire to work in the more prosperous coalfields of West Fife. It was designed by Charles W Gray in an early Scottish style with a saddleback tower, all white harled in 1958 and built by the Smith ligo family of Inzievar House, which is to the east of the church. Charles William Gray was born in 1899. He studied under the direction of John Ross McKay from 1921 until 1927, both in the latter's office an at home, an attended classes at Edinburgh College of Art from 1922. He did well in his studies, winning a batch of prizes and a travelling bursary in 1925. He spent three month sketching in France, Italy, Spain an England. He spent the winter of 1928 with Harry Stuart Goodhart Rendel in Cannes at St Raphael, afore joining the office of René Darde, architect of the Société Centrale de Paris. In September 1931 or 1932 he began his own practice practice at Ste Maxime a small villa at St Raphael. He returned to Edinburgh in 1936 an was appointed chief o workers to Reginald Fairlie, who was working on the National Library of Scotland. He remained wit Fairlie until 1939, whilst an a carrying out his own private practice which consisted mainly of churches. He died in 1987.
