Spring Road Trip Drive With Music On History Visit To Church Anstruther East Neuk Of Fife Scotland

Tour Scotland 4K travel video, with Scottish music, of a Spring road trip drive from Shore Street in Pittenweem on ancestry, genealogy, family, history visit to Wester Parish Church and graveyard in Anstruther, East Neuk of Fife, Britain, United Kingdom. In 1243, a church on this site was dedicated to St. Nicholas. The present structure consists of a sixteenth century tower and steeple and a mid nineteenth century main cell, which probably incorporates fabric from the medieval church. There are earthworks in the churchyard which mark the outline of the old church building. The church is now used as a hall. The graveyard surrounds the church to the north, south and east. It contains a number of 17th century memorials. Near the church is a medieval coffin and an early 17th century grave slab with memento mori symbols. I was raised in Anstruther and Cellardyke. The Fife Coastal Walking Path goes through Anstruther and Cellardyke and runs from the Forth Estuary in the south, to the Tay Estuary in the north and stretches for 117 miles. Originally founded as a fishing village, Anstruther is home to the Scottish Fisheries Museum. Its main industry is now tourism. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome. The date for astronomical Spring is 20th March, ending on 21st June, while by the meteorological calendar, Spring starts on 1st March. When driving in Scotland slow down and enjoy the trip.
