Red Deer On Visit To The Highlands Of Scotland

Tour Scotland travel video, with Scottish music, of Red Deer on visit to the Scottish Highlands. The Scottish red deer, Cervus elaphus scoticus, is a subspecies of red deer, which is native to the British Isles. Like the red deer of Ireland, it was introduced to Britain sometime in the Stone age. The deer thrives in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and in parts of England such as Westmorland, Devon, Somerset, and the New Forest. It is also found in County Kerry and Donegal in Ireland. Standing proud and tall, the red deer is our largest deer. With its massive antlers, it is an unmistakeable icon of the Scottish highlands, but can be seen in North west and southern England, too.
