Summer Lairig Ghru Mountain Pass On Visit To The Eastern Highlands Of Scotland

Tour Scotland Summer travel video, with Scottish music, of Lairig Ghru, Scottish Gaelic: Làirig Dhrù, one of the mountain passes through the Cairngorms, on visit to the Eastern Highlands. Historically the Lairig Ghru has been used simply as a route between Deeside and Strathspey. It is often referred to as a Drove Road, a route for droving highland cattle and livestock on foot from one place to another, but was used by many different people, for many different purposes. The rain that falls on the slopes at either side of the southern half of the Lairig Ghru eventually drains into the River Dee.
