Old Photograph Mill Forss Water Thurso Scotland

Old photograph of the Mill on the Forss Water near Thurso, Caithness, Scotland. Forss Water, known also as Forss River, has its source at the northern end of Loch Shurrey. About 8 miles north of its source the river flows into Crosskirk Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Crosskirk Bay is on the north coast of Great Britain and about 5 miles West of the burgh of Thurso, Caithness, in the Highlands. The river marked the eastern extent of the Clan Mackay raid in the Sandside Chase of 1437. Blog post of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.
