Old Photograph Cir Mhor Island Of Arran Scotland

Old photograph of Cir Mhor, Island of Arran, Scotland. Cir Mhor is a craggy triangular shaped mountain looming at the head of Glen Rosa. It is a Corbett known as the Matterhorn of Arran. Its name means the " big comb ", referring its resemblance to a cockscomb. It is separated from the island's highest peak, Goat Fell by a col called The Saddle. The Corbetts are peaks in Scotland that are between 2,500 and 3,000 feet high with a prominence of at least 500 feet. The list of Corbetts was compiled in the 1920s by John Rooke Corbett, a Bristol based climber.
