Old photograph of houses, people and buildings on Castle Street in Banff, Scotland. The street sits on the site of a 12th century motte and bailey fortress. This original castle was a strategic royal stronghold visited by King Edward I of England in 1296 and later reclaimed by Robert the Bruce in 1309.
