Old Photographs Dornie Bridge Loch Long Scotland

Old photograph of Dornie Bridge over Loch Long near Eilean Donan Castle, Scotland. Nothing now remains of the old bridge, as it was removed soon after the new bridge opened. The old bridge was a single track concrete structure, which spanned from the middle of Dornie Village to immediately north of the new bridge on the Ardelve side. When first opened in 1940, it was tolled although the toll was lifted in 1945. Blog post of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to travel and visit one day.
