Old photograph of Pitlethie House in Leuchars, Fife, Scotland. Robert Bruce of Pitlethie and his wife, Janet Dundas, had at least six children and owned the house until his death in 1603. The Pitlethie estate was then passed to his son, Robert Bruce, who died in 1623. The site itself has evidence of much older prehistoric and medieval activity. Early 19th century, 2 storey 3 window whin rubble with sandstone dressings, centre bay advanced, R-doric columns and fanlight to doorpiece, panelled wallhead blocking course; back wing; 17th century panel set into South East gable. Blog post of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.
