Old Photograph Gardyne Street Friockheim Scotland

Old photograph of people outside the church on Gardyne Street in Friockheim, Angus, Scotland. Standing on the corner of Station Road, where the Road divides between Gardyne Street and Millgate, Friockheim's church forms a focal point to the west end of the village. Friockheim Parish Church was built in 1835 using stones from a nearby ruined chapel at Dunnichen, and was originally a chapel of ease. It was extended five years later to form an L-plan structure. The interior of the church was remodelled in around 1880 and the tower's steeple was removed in 1950. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.
