Old photograph of Archibald John Morton Stuart, 19th Earl of Moray in Moray, Scotland. Archibald, born on 14 November 1894, died 27 March 1974, was the son of Morton Gray Stuart, 17th Earl of Moray and Edith Douglas Palmer. He married Mabel Helen Maud Wilson, daughter of Benjamin Wilson, on 28 January 1922. He was educated at Royal Naval College, Osborne, Isle of Wight, England and at the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, Devon, England. He fought in the First World War. He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the service of the Royal Navy. He fought in the Second World War. He succeeded to the title of 19th Lord Strathdearn on 9 July 1943. He succeeded to the title of 19th Lord Abernethy on 9 July 1943. He succeeded to the title of 19th Earl of Moray on 9 July 1943. He succeeded to the title of 19th Lord Doune on 9 July 1943. He succeeded to the title of 11th Baron Stuart of Castle Stuart on 9 July 1943. He succeeded to the title of 17th Lord Saint Colme on 9 July 1943. He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant of Morayshire in 1949.
