Old Photograph Fishing Boats Harbour Wick Scotland

Old photograph of fishing boats in the harbour in Wick, Scotland. Driven by the migration of herring shoals to the North Sea, Wick transformed from a small village into a massive industrial hub. At its peak in the mid 1800s, over 1,000 boats operated out of the harbour, supported by thousands of workers, including "gutters," coopers, and curers.
