Tour Scotland Ansruther Tom Weir Video. Tom Weir visited Anstruther, where I was raised in Scotland, in 1978. Locally it is known as Anster, as you will hear on the video. I am very proud to have been raised in this traditional Scottish fishing village in the East Neuk of Fife, sadly, the fishing industry is long gone. This video was made by Thomas Weir MBE, better known as Tom (December 29, 1914 - July 6, 2006) who was a Scottish climber, author and broadcaster. He was best known for his long-running television series Weir's Way.
