Kinrossie mercat cross, or market cross, now enclosed by railings, stands beside the public road at the centre of the village. It consists of a stepped plinth, a shaft and moulded head, in the form of a St Andrew's cross with each arm defined by a bowtell moulding and is surmounted by a ball-finial. The date 1686 is no longer visible.

Old photograph of Renton in Central Scotland. James Harrison was born in Renton in 1815 and emigrated to Australia in 1837. After several newspaper jobs, Harrison became the first editor and owner of the Geelong Advertiser in Victoria. In 1852 he set about installing what is generally accepted as the world's first refrigerated compressor.

Leading the parade was Blairgowrie and Rattray Pipe Band, followed by games officials including Laurence Blair Oliphant of Ardblair and Gask, Chieftain of the Games. Also in the parade were the Duggar Family; Bob and Michelle Duggar, along with their 19 children, and 2 grandchildren, hailing from Kansas, USA, they are stars of the reality television show, 19 Kids and Counting. The final group in the parade were the Rattray School Marching Drum Corps. Blairgpwrie sister cities are Fergus, Ontario, Canada, and Pleasanton, California, America.
