Old Photograph Cottage Near Fort William Scotland

Old photograph of a cottage near Fort William, Scotland. Historically, this area of Lochaber was strongly Clan Cameron country, and there were a number of mainly Cameron settlements in the area. The town grew in size as a settlement when the fort was constructed to control the population after Oliver Cromwell's invasion during the Wars of the Three Kingdoms, and then to suppress the Jacobite uprisings of the 18th century. Fort William is now a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles.

Old photograph of the cottage Post Office, Graemsay, Orkney Islands, Scotland. Graemsay is an island in the western approaches to Scapa Flow, in the Orkney Islands of Scotland. The island has two lighthouses. Graemsay folks were a hardy race of farmers, fishermen and seafarers who over time suffered famine and plague, war and impressment, and raised large families to seek their fortune across the globe.

Old photograph of the Inveraray Bridge over Loch Fyne, Scotland. Loch Fyne, Scottish Gaelic: Loch Fìne, meaning " Loch of the Vine " is a sea loch off the Firth of Clyde and forms part of the coast of the Cowal Peninsula. Located on the west coast of Argyll and Bute, west of Scotland. It extends 65 kilometres (40 mi) inland from the Sound of Bute, making it the longest of the sea lochs in Scotland. It is connected to the Sound of Jura by the Crinan Canal.

Old photograph of the Post Office in Ferness, Morayshire, Scotland. Ferness is a hamlet and rural area in Strathdearn. It is situated in a forested area of the valley of the River Findhorn at the crossroads of the A939 Nairn to Grantown-on-Spey and B9007 Forres to Carrbridge roads.
