Tour Scotland Travel Video Spring Sunday Afternoon Drive Through Glen Quaich Highland Perthshire
Tour Scotland travel video of a Spring Sunday afternoon road trip drive on the single track road, with passing places, through Glen Quaich on visit to Highland, Perthshire, Scotland. A driver stopped to inform me that the road was blocked with snow drifts at higher elevations. Glen Quaich gets its name from the River Quaich which runs through it into Loch Freuchie. The clearances in Breadalbane, did not occur until the 1830’s, under the command of the Second Marquis of Breadalbane. In 1835, the factor, James Wyllie, had cleared the entire population of Glenquaich, with most Scots in the Glen taking flight by sea and populating lands in the new world, including the Huron settlement in Western Ontario and North Easthope, County of Perth, Ontario, Canada. There, they settled with other families from Amulree, Auchnafauld, Aberfeldy and Kenmore, all areas that were affected by the events of the 1830 clearances.

Tour Scotland Spring Sunday morning travel video of a road trip drive from Perth on Dunkeld Road then North on the A9, then West on the A822 road on ancestry visit to the church and graveyard in Amulree, Strathbraan, Highland, Perthshire, Scotland. Amulree Church was built between 1743 and 1752 and remodelled in 1882 by John Douglas of Edinburgh who was also responsible for Palladianising Blair Castle in 1736 and designing Taymouth Castle in 1746. It is built to a simple design. The church contains copies of records of the large number of people who stayed in the area prior to mass emigration, mostly to North Easthope, Canada, in the early 19th Century. The churchyard has wonderful some interesting Scottish gravestones.

Old Travel Blog Photograph Of The Village From The Old Church Tower St Monans East Neuk Of Fife Scotland
Old travel Blog photograph of the village from the old church tower in St Monans, East Neuk of Fife, Scotland. This area is part of the Fife Coastal Walking Path. The Scottish church is situated within its graveyard just to the west of the village on the very edge of the sea. It has a very dramatic setting, perched on a low rock, reached over a small valley with a burn. The church and harbour are on the Fife Coastal Path which runs from the Forth Estuary in the south, to the Tay Estuary in the north. This is a fairly flat part of the path which links three of the celebrated East Neuk fishing villages of St Monans, Pittenweem and Anstruther, and can be very beautiful.
