Old Travel Blog Photograph Charabancs Edinburgh Scotland
Old travel Blog photograph of Charabancs filled with tourists on a tour of Edinburgh, Scotland. A charabanc, often pronounced " sharra-bang " in colloquial British English, is a type of early motor coach, usually open topped, common in Britain during the early part of the 20th century. It has "benched seats arranged in rows, looking forward, commonly used for large parties, whether as public conveyances or for excursions. It was especially popular for sight seeing or " works outings " to the country or the seaside, organised by businesses once a year. The name derives from the French char à bancs, " carriage with wooden benches ", the vehicle having originated in France in the early 19th century.

Old Travel Blog Photograph Circus Elephants Cullen Scotland
Old travel Blog photograph of Circus Elephants arriving in Cullen, Moray, Scotland. This Scottish fishing village located on the North Sea coast is noted for Cullen Skink, a traditional soup made from smoked haddock, milk, potato and onion, and its former railway bridges, two of which are now part of the national cycle network. These bridges were required, at considerable cost, due to resistance to the railway line being routed any closer to Cullen House. Robert Burns stayed overnight at, what was then, the old town of Cullen in 1787 during his tour of the Highlands. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.

Tour Scotland Travel Video Drive Queensferry Crossing Road Bridge Over Firth Of Forth
Tour Scotland travel video of a road trip drive over the Queensferry Crossing road bridge which spans the Firth Of Forth between South Queensferry near Edinburgh and North Queensferry, Fife, Scotland. Windshielding has been used on the new bridge to make the crossing less susceptible to closure during high winds. The classification of the bridge as a motorway with a 70 mph speed limit prevents a reduced level of service that would arise from use of the crossing by non motorway traffic. As a consequence of the motorway status of the bridge, motorcycles with an engine capacity less than 50cc will not be permitted on the Queensferry Crossing. Learner riders with a Compulsory Basic Training certificate will be allowed to use the existing Forth Road Bridge on motorcycles, displaying L plates with an engine capacity of less than 50cc. Those wishing to cross the Queensferry Crossing on a motorcycle with an engine capacity of 50cc or greater will have to ensure that they are in possession of a full licence.

Tour Scotland Travel Video Hot Air Balloon Taking Off North Inch Park Perth Perthshire
Tour Scotland travel video of a Hot Air Balloon taking off in The North Inch Park on a visit to the Fair City of Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. This was the first flight from Perth in 2018. A lot of the work in hot air ballooning comes at the beginning and the end of the flight, when the crew inflates and deflates the balloon. For the spectator, this is a much more spectacular show than the actual balloon flight. When everything is set, the ground crew releases the balloon and the pilot fires a steady flame from the burner. As the air heats up, the balloon lifts right off the ground. The North Inch is the larger of the two inches in Perth and overlooks the River Tay. The North Inch extends to an area of approximately 54 hectares. The North Inch is a popular venue for major special events and festivals. The areas can also be hired for those Organising outdoor events.
