Tour Scotland Video Scotsman From Fife Playing Bagpipes Music On The Mound Edinburgh
Tour Scotland video of a Scotsman from Tayport, Fife, playing bagpipe music on The Mound on windy visit to the city of Edinburgh, Scotland. The construction of the Earthen Mound, as it was originally called, was begun in 1781 and it was extended over the years until by 1830 it was macadamised and landscaped so that it appeared more or less complete. When the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway was extended to Waverley in 1846, tunnels were driven under The Mound to allow access to the west.

Old Photograph Road To Durisdeer Scotland
Old photograph of the road to Durisdeer, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. A Roman road once passed through the site of the village as a direct route from Nithsdale to Clydesdale, and the remains of a small, but well preserved Roman fort are located about a mile up the Well Path to the north-east; the defensive ditch and rampart are clearly visible. The parish church, a category A listed building in the village, also serves Drumlanrig Castle, the 17th century home of the Duke of Queensberry. Durisdeer Church was rebuilt by the third Duke in the 1720s, to designs by James Smith. Durisdeer was included in the 1978 film version of The Thirty Nine Steps, starring Robert Powell.

Old photograph of Preston Mill, a watermill on the River Tyne at the eastern edge of East Linton, a town in East Lothian, Scotland. This location features as the mill on the Fraser estate, Lallybroch, that Jamie goes to repair while visiting his family home in the Outlander TV series. Filming took place at Preston Mill in May 2014. When Redcoats arrive unexpectedly, Jamie hides underwater as Claire and his sister try to distract them.

Tour Scotland Video Black Highland Cows Scottish Highlands
Tour Scotland video of black Highland Cows on a road on ancestry visit to the Scottish Highlands of Scotland. Highland coos are a Scottish cattle breed. They have long horns and long wavy coats that are coloured black, brindle, red, yellow, white, silver or dun, and they are raised primarily for their meat. They are a hardy breed due to their native environment, the Highlands of Scotland. This results in long hair, giving the breed its ability to overwinter. Bulls can weigh up to 800 kilograms, 1,800 pounds, and cows up to 500 kilograms, 1,100 pounds. Their milk generally has a very high butterfat content, and their meat, regarded as of the highest quality, is gaining mainstream acceptance as it is lower in cholesterol than other varieties of beef.
