Tour Scotland Video Drive Single Track Road Towards Black Cuillin Mountains Isle Of Skye
Tour Scotland travel video of a drive on a single track road towards the Black Cuillin mountainson ancestry, genealogy, family history visit to the Isle Of Skye, Inner Hebrides. The highest point of the Cuillin, and of the Isle of Skye, is Sgùrr Alasdair in the Black Cuillin at 3,255 feet. The Cuillin is one of 40 National Scenic Areas in Scotland. A single track road or one lane road is a road that permits two way travel but is not wide enough in most places to allow vehicles to pass one another, although sometimes two compact cars can pass. This kind of road is common in rural areas across the United Kingdom and elsewhere. The term is widely used in Scotland, particularly the Highlands, to describe such roads.

Tour Scotland travel video of part of the drive on the A87 road from Portree towards the The Cuillin range of rocky mountains and Sligachan on ancestry, genealogy, family history visit to the Isle Of Skye, Inner Hebrides. The Sligachan Hotel sits at the junction of the A87 and the A863 on the Isle of Skye. The hotel is a magnet for hill walkers, lying in the very shadow of the majestic Black Cuillin which dominate the surrounding landscape.

Tour Scotland video of the bagpipes music of Blairgowrie and Rattray District Pipe Band followed by Chieftain Laurence Blair Oliphant of Ardblair and Gask and games officials at the opening parade of the Blairgowrie Highland Games in Bogles Field, Essendy Road, Blairgowrie, Perthshire, Scotland. The annual Games and Gathering take place on the first Sunday after the first Saturday in September in beautiful Perthshire.

Tour Scotland Video Clan Young Parade Highland Games Blairgowrie Perthshire
Tour Scotland video of the Clan Young parade on visit to the Blairgowrie Highland Games in Bogles Field, Essendy Road, Blairgowrie, Perthshire, Scotland. The name Young was originally used to distinguish a son from his father when they shared a common forename. It was also used in the case of multiple sons by the father’s heir. Consequently this is a fairly common surname in Scotland, being frequently found in Edinburgh, the Scottish Borders region and also the Northeast regions of Angus and Kincardineshire.

Tour Scotland Video Bagpipes And Sword Dancing Highland Games Blairgowrie Perthshire
Tour Scotland video of the bagpipes and Sword Dancing at the Highland Dancing competition on visit to the Blairgowrie Highland Games in Bogles Field, Essendy Road, Blairgowrie, Perthshire, Scotland. In Gillie Callum or Scottish sword dance the dancer crosses two swords on the ground in an X shape, dances around and within the 4 quarters of it. In 1573 Scottish mercenaries are said to have performed a Scottish Sword dance before the Swedish King, John III, at a banquet held in Stockholm Castle.
