Tour Scotland video of a rainy morning drive from Perth, to Scone, Perthshire, Scotland. The medieval village of Scone, which grew up around the monastery and royal residence, was abandoned in the early 19th century when the residents were removed and a new palace was built on the site by the Earl of Mansfield. Hence the modern village of Scone. The new village was built in 1805 as a planned village and was originally called New Scone. I live in Scone village.

Tour Scotland Video Rainy Morning Drive To From Dundee To Perth Perthshire

Tour Scotland video of a cloudy rainy morning drive West on the A90 road from Dundee on ancestry visit to Bridgend in Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. This Scottish road originates in Edinburgh, it the travels west and over the Forth Road Bridge, before turning into the M90 motorway. At Perth, the M90 again becomes the A90, now running north east to Dundee and through the Kingsway road system. It then passes Forfar, Brechin, Stracathro, the site of an ancient Roman Camp, Stonehaven, Bridge of Muchalls, where the Burn of Muchalls flows under, near Muchalls Castle, near Saint Ternan's Church, Newtonhill, Portlethen, from there through the city of Aberdeen, crossing the Ythan Estuary, on to Peterhead on its way to Fraserburgh.

Tour Scotland Video Morning Drive Into Dundee Tayside

Tour Scotland video of a cloudy morning drive along Perth Road and South Tay Street to the West Port on ancestry visit to the city of Dundee, Scotland. The original West Port was one of the chief Gates of the burgh, as it controlled all traffic going westward or coming from that direction. It is probable that Sir William Wallace made his escape through it to the Carse of Gowrie after he had slain the son of Governor Selbie.

Tour Scotland Video Old Photographs Cullen

Tour Scotland wee video of old photographs of Cullen, Moray, Scotland. This Scottish fishing village located on the North Sea coast is noted for Cullen Skink, a traditional soup made from smoked haddock, milk, potato and onion, and its former railway bridges, two of which are now part of the national cycle network. These bridges were required, at considerable cost, due to resistance to the railway line being routed any closer to Cullen House. Robert Burns stayed overnight at, what was then, the old town of Cullen in 1787 during his tour of the Highlands. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.

Tour Scotland video of a waterfall after heavy rain in Highland Perthshire, Scotland. Perthshire extends from Strathmore in the east, to the Pass of Drumochter in the north, Rannoch Moor and Ben Lui in the west, and Aberfoyle in the south. Perthshire is known as the " big county ", owed to its status as the 4th largest historic county in Scotland. It has a wide variety of landscapes, from the rich agricultural straths in the east, to the high mountains of the southern Highlands.
