Tour Scotland Video Spring Drive From Kirkmichael To Bridge Of Cally Perthshire

Tour Scotland video of a Spring drive from Kirkmichael, East on the A924 road, to Bridge Of Cally, Perthshire, Scotland. The name Kirkmichael means The Church of St Michael; the Gaelic name is Cill Mhìcheil. The village dates back over a thousand years and was at one time an important market in the cattle trade between the Highlands and Lowlands with various drove roads converging on the village. The area became popular as a holiday resort following Queen Victoria's building of Balmoral Castle in nearby Deeside and many of the local shooting lodges were built at that time. Bridge of Cally sits at the junction of three glens, Glenshee, Strathardle and Glenericht and is centred round the bridge over the River Ardle.

It is popular as a base for coach holidays. The town has retained many stone Victorian buildings, and the main street has an unusual period cast iron canopy over one side.
