Old Photograph Lawn Bowling Green Oatlands Glasgow Scotland
Old photograph of men on the Lawn Bowling Green in Richmond Park in Oatlands, Glasgow, Scotland. Oatlands is an area in the city of Glasgow. It is situated South of the River Clyde. It is part of the Gorbals historic area, and its boundaries are Hutchesontown and the Southern Necropolis cemetery to the West, Polmadie to the South, Shawfield in the town of Rutherglen to the East, and Glasgow Green public park to the North, across the River Clyde. Until the 1990s, the area was characterised by four storey sandstone tenements built at the end of the 19th century and the start of the 20th. A continuous line of tenements faced Richmond Park, opened in 1899, across busy Rutherglen Road, one of Glasgow's main arterial routes.

Old Photograph Maid of Ashton Scotland
Old photograph of Maid of Ashton near the pier at Blairmore located one mile North of Strone near Dunoon, Scotland. Blairmore village is located on the Cowal peninsula in Argyll and Bute. It is situated on the western shore of Loch Long. It was largely built during the Victorian era and has a small wooden pier which dates to 1855. MV Maid of Ashton was a passenger ferry operated by Caledonian Steam Packet Company, initially on the Holy Loch service. In May 1957, Princess Margaret took a cruise down river from Glasgow on Maid of Ashton. In January 1973, rendered redundant by the car ferry revolution, she was sold for a new career as a floating restaurant on the Thames, in London, England, under the name Hispaniola.

Old Photograph Lady's Walk Howard Park Kilmarnock Scotland
Old photograph of Lady's Walk in Howard Park in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland. Lady's Walk in this park commemorates the grief stricken walks taken by the young widow of the Earl of Kilmarnock, who was sentenced to be hanged, drawn and quartered in London in 1746. His sentence was later commuted to beheading, and his widow died a year after his execution. The land on which Howard Park is situated was given to Kilmarnock by the Howard De Walden family.
