Often described as the islands at the edge of the world, the archipelago of St Kilda is located 41 miles west of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides. Now uninhabited, St Kilda was home to a community who survived the inhospitable conditions here for thousands of years before the final 36 people were evacuated in 1930.

Tour Scotland Video Diesel Passenger Trains Crossing Tay Railway Bridge Wormit Fife



Tour Scotland video of diesel passenger trains crossing the Tay Railway Bridge over the Firth of Tay from and to Dundee to Wormit in Fife, Scotland. The present structure is the second one this site. From about 1854, there had been plans for a Tay crossing, to replace an early train ferry. The first bridge, opened in 1878, was a single track lattice design, notable for lightness and low cost. Its sudden collapse in a high wind on 28 December 1879 was one of the great engineering disasters of history. Seventy five passengers and crew died,The second bridge is a double track construction of iron and steel, opened in 1887 and still in service. Video shot from the Signal Box at Wormit.

Tour Scotland Video Winter Afternoon Drive To Balmullo Fife



Tour Scotland video of a Winter afternoon drive on the A914 road on ancestry visit to Balmullo in North East Fife, Scotland. This Scottish village is seven miles from the town of St Andrews and near to the villages of Lucklawhill, Guardbridge, Dairsie and Leuchars. Now largely a dormitory settlement, it was once a weaving village. Balmullo was the home of the picture postcard cartoonist Martin Anderson known as Cynicus, whose red sandstone Cynicus Castle was demolished in 1939, seven years after his death
