Old Photograph Victoria Bridge Aberdeen Scotland

Old photograph of small fishing boats by Victoria Bridge which spans the River Dee in Aberdeen, Scotland. The Victoria Bridge was completed in 1887, following a ferry disaster in 1876 which claimed the lives of 32 people returning from a visit to the Bay of Nigg. The bridge also has facilities for carrying water and gas services across the river.

Old photograph of cottages in Clayholes near Carnoustie, Scotland. This small hamlet is situated on the unclassified Balmachie road, that connects the A930 road in Carnoustie with the A92 road at Balmachie.

Old Photographs St Combs Scotland

Old photograph of the small fishing village of St Combs near Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The village takes its name from a church to St Colm or Columba that used to exist in the area. There is considerable evidence of local habitation by early man in and around St Combs. Somewhat to the south west lies the Catto Long Barrow and a number of tumuli.

Old Photograph National Commercial Bank Bishopbriggs Scotland

Old photograph of the National Commercial Bank in Bishopbriggs, Glasgow, Scotland. This part of Scotland was once in the historic parish of Cadder, originally lands granted by King William the Lion to the Bishop of Glasgow, Jocelin, in 1180. Bishopbriggs' close geographic proximity to Glasgow now effectively makes it a suburb and commuter town of the city.
