Old photograph of men playing Tennis in Moffat in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. King James V had one of the first tennis courts in the world built in 1539 in the grounds of Falkland Palace in Fife, the royal hunting lodge of the Stewarts. It is thought that as well as James V, Mary Queen of Scots and James VI, James I of England, also played on the Royal Tennis Court.

Old photograph of Thomas A Purves, at the North British Railway Station on Princes Street in Helensburgh, Scotland. Thomas was stationmaster for 31 years, retiring in June 1905, after 50 years of service with North British Railway.
