Old Photograph Keig Scotland
Old photograph of the church in Keig near Alford, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Keig Parish Church is located in a large graveyard a short distance to the north of the small village of Keig. The church and village are situated in an open agricultural landscape with rising ground to the north-west. The current church, built in the 19th century, replaced a much older church located nearby.

Tour Scotland Video These Coal Town Days Song Backstage Green Hotel Kinross Perthshire
Tour Scotland video of singers singing These Coal Town Days, Backstage at the Green Hotel on ancestry visit to Loch Leven on ancestry visit to Kinross, Perthshire, Scotland.
There’ll be tears in the eyes of the weak,
And in the eyes of the most strong-hearted,
Tears in the eyes of the miners and wives,
When these coal town days are done.
And it’s towered above this town,
Since this century first started,
But the towers will be all torn down,
And a whole way of life hauled away.
Men have worked it in fear and rage,
And they’ve cursed it to hell in it’s darkness,
But they’ll walk from that last shift’s cage,
And they’ll curse what the future’s to bring.
And the fight between the mine and the man,
And the lives and blood that it cost us,
It was never to be lost or won,
Because the powers that be rule the day.

Tour Scotland Video Smile In Your Sleep Song Backstage Green Hotel Kinross Perthshire
Tour Scotland video of singers singing Smile In Your Sleep, Backstage at the Green Hotel on ancestry visit to Loch Leven on ancestry visit to Kinross, Perthshire, Scotland.
Hush, hush, time to be sleeping
Hush, hush, dreams come a-creeping
Dreams of peace and of freedom
So smile in your sleep, bonny baby
Once our valleys were ringing
With songs of our children singing
But now sheep bleat till the evening
And shielings lie empty and broken
We stood with heads bowed in prayer,
While factors laid our cottages bare,
The flames licked the clear mountain air,
And many were dead by the morning.
Where is our proud highland mettle
Our troops once so fierce in battle
Now stand, cowed, huddled like cattle
And wait to be shipped o'er the ocean
No use pleading or praying
For gone, gone is all hope of staying
Hush, hush, the anchor's a-weighing
Don't cry in your sleep, bonny baby
