Old Photograph Carnwath Scotland
Old photograph of shops, people, houses and cottages in Carnwath on the southern edge of the Pentland Hills thirty miles South of Edinburgh, and Glasgow, Scotland. The Clan Lamont were driven from their homeland to settle in Carnwath. They later became Covenanters. In 1630, the Carnwath estate, owned by the Earl of Mar was purchased by Sir Robert Dalzell, later to become Lord Dalzell. In 1639, his son, the 2nd Lord Dalzell and also named Robert, was further elevated to become the Earl of Carnwath. The title was forfeit in 1716 when the 5th Earl, Robert Dalzell became attainted due to his support of the Jacobite cause but the titles were restored in 1826. Writer, spy and politician, George Lockhart, inherited the Carnwath estates from his father, George Lockhart of the Lockharts of Lee, who had purchased them in 1681. Tour Scotland Video Interior St Michael's Episcopal Church Earlsferry East Neuk Of Fife
Tour Scotland travel video of the interior of St Michael's and All Angels Episcopal Church in Earlsferry on ancestry, history visit and trip to the East Neuk of Fife. One of the few remaining iron churches in Scotland. This church was first erected in 1905 near the sixth tee on the golf course at Craigforth. It was moved to its present position on Rotten Row in 1924, where it sits back from the road in a small plot of ground St Gabriel's Bield, surrounded by residential buildings. It is a prefabricated 'tin church', supplied by Spiers of Glasgow. The church was partially destroyed by fire in 1953 and reopened for worship in October 1954. It is rectangular, orientated north to south. Entry is by a porch on the south, reached by a ramp for the disabled, and there is a vestry on the east of the chancel and a back door on the north gable end. Access to the church from Rotten Row is through memorial gates past a shrub border, and there is also access on the north side from the path which runs alongside the eighteenth fairway of the golf course.

Tour Scotland Video Parish Church Elie
Tour Scotland video of the parish church in Elie, Elie, East Neuk of Fife, Scotland. This T plan church was built in 1639 and its tower was added in 1726. The church lies east to west, the long axis with the tower facing south towards Elie High Street. It is in a walled graveyard which surrounds the church to the south, east and west and is probably of a similar age to the church. It has been in use until very recently. Features of interest include a carved octagonal font which was removed from Wood Memorial Church prior to its demolition.
