Old photograph of Dulsie Bridge over the River Findhorn which flows into the Moray Firth, Scotland. The bridge was built by Major William Caulfield as part of the military road constructed to link Edinburgh, Perth, Perthshire and Fort George. This road was built between 1748 and 1757, after the defeat of the 1745 Jacobite rising.

Old Photograph Kyleakin Lighthouse Eilean Bàn Scotland
Old photograph of Kyleakin Lighthouse on Eilean Bàna island between Kyle of Lochalsh and the Isle Of Skye, Scotland. Kyleakin Lighthouse is situated at the south western end of Eilean Bàn. It was built by David and Thomas Stevenson in 1857, and is linked to a pair of keepers' houses. The lighthouse was automated and converted to use acetylene gas in 1960. Following the start of construction of the Skye Bridge, the lighthouse was decommissioned in 1993. The island supports part of the Skye Bridge, which crosses the mouth of Loch Alsh from the mainland to Skye.

Tour Scotland Video Sheep By Single Track Road Perthshire Scottish Highlands
Tour Scotland video of sheep by the single track road which runs South from Glen Lyon to Ben Lawers on ancestry visit to Highland Perthshire, Scotland. Glen Lyon is a corruption from the Gaelic " lithe " meaning " flood ", a frequent state of the River Lyon. Robert Campbell of Glenlyon, born 1630, died 1696, led the detachment of government troops responsible for the infamous Glencoe Massacre, of the MacDonalds of Glencoe in 1691.

Tour Scotland Video Sheiling By Single Track Road Perthshire Scottish Highlands
Tour Scotland video of a Sheiling by a single track road on ancestry visit to Highland Perthshire, Scotland. This temporary home, can be found on the road between Bridge of Balgie, and Ben Lawers Visitor Centre, in the Perthshire Highlands. These buildings were used when Highland Cattle were taken into the mountains for summer grazing Shepherds and farmers and their families lived in shielings during the summer to have their livestock graze common land.
