Situated at the south of Rothesay, it was known as Thomson House, later becoming the Thomson Home. Old Photograph Shoemakers Land Edinburgh Scotland

Old photograph of Shoemakers Land in Edinburgh, Scotland. Shoemakers' or Bible Land is a large five storeyed tenement with two gables facing the street and closely spaced windows. Shoemakers Lands were bought in 1677 by the Guild of Cordwainers of the Canongate. The hall of the Incorporation of Cordiners was e rected in 1682. Reconstructed in 1725. Totally demolished in 1882.

Old Photograph Quay Street Ullapool Scotland

Old photograph of people, houses and hotel on Quay Street in Ullapool, Scotland. Ullapool is a village in the Scottish Highlands. On the east shore of Loch Broom, Ullapool was founded in 1788 as a herring fishing port by the British Fisheries Society. It was designed by Thomas Telford. The harbour is still the edge of the village, used as a fishing port, yachting haven, and ferry port. Ferries sail to Stornoway in the Outer Hebrides. The village lies on the A835 road from Inverness. The Ullapool River flows through the village.
