Old photograph of a Tram in East Wemyss, Fife, Scotland. This Scottish village was traditionally one of several coal mining communities along the south coast of Fife. The pit was its main employer for many years until it was closed in 1967 due to a fire which resulted in the deaths of nine men. East Wemyss is also home to the ruins of MacDuff's Castle, home to the MacDuff Earls of Fife, the most powerful family in Fife during the Middle Ages.

Old Photograph Railway Station Luthrie Fife Scotland

Old photograph of a steam train locomotive in the, now closed, railway station in Luthrie near St Andrews, North Fife, Scotland. The Newburgh and North Fife Railway was a Scottish railway company formed to build a connecting line between St Fort and Newburgh, in Fife, intended to open up residential traffic between the intermediate communities and Dundee and Perth. It opened its line, which was expensive to construct, in 1909 but the local traffic never developed. It closed to passenger traffic in 1951, and completely in 1964. The line was worked from the outset by the North British Railway. There were intermediate stations at Kilmany, Luthrie and Lindores; Kilmany and Luthrie had passing loops and the three stations had ample 450 feet long platforms. There were also intermediate goods sidings at Rathillet, just west of Kilmany, and at Ayton Smithy, between Lindores and Luthrie.

Old Photograph Sea View Terrace St Abbs Scotland

Old photograph of a shop, cottages and people on Sea View Terrace in St. Abbs, Scotland. St. Abbs is a small fishing village located on the south east coast of Scotland, in the Berwickshire area of the Scottish Borders. The village was originally known as Coldingham Shore, the name was changed in the 1890s to St. Abbs. The new name was derived from St Abb's Head, a rocky promontory located to the north of the village, itself named after St. Aebbe.
