Old photograph of Elginhaugh Mill by Eskbank, Dalkeith, Midlothian, Scotland. This was a flour mill owned by a Mr Gray. The site of a Roman Fort is also nearby, one of several marching camps in the area, situated to protect the crossing place of the Roman Road over the North Esk.

Tour Scotland Winter Video Snow Scone Palace Perth Perthshire

Tour Scotland video of Winter snow falling at Scone Palace by Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. Scone was an important religious gathering place of the Picts, and it was the site of an early Christian church. Robert the Bruce was crowned at Scone in 1306 and the last coronation was of Charles II, when he accepted the Scottish crown in 1651. The first Lord Scone was Sir David Murray. He was of Flemish noble origin, and was Cup-bearer, Master of the Horse and Captain of the Guard to King James VI of Scotland. The 3rd Lord Stormont held the last coronation in Scotland.

Old Photograph Kincardine Bridge Scotland

Old photograph of Kincardine Bridg by Kincardine-on-Forth in Fife, Scotland. The Kincardine Bridge is a road bridge crossing the Firth of Forth from Falkirk council area to Kincardine-on-Forth, Fife. The bridge was constructed between 1932 and 1936, to a design by Sir Alexander Gibb and Partners, Consulting Engineers and Architect, Donald Watson. It was the first road crossing of the River Forth downstream of Stirling, completed nearly thirty years before the Forth Road Bridge, which stands fifteen miles to the South East. The bridge was constructed with a swinging central section that would allow larger ships to sail upstream to the small port at Alloa, which remained in use until 1988.
